Description: A Chemical and Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission is present in each state where a chemical weapons storage site is located. Each commission is made up of nine gubernatorial appointees. The commission meets with a representative from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army to receive citizen and state concerns regarding the ongoing program of the Army for the disposal of chemical agents and munitions in the stockpile.
Composition: 9 members appointed by the Governor. 7 of such members shall be citizens from the local affected areas in the State and 2 shall be representatives of state government who have direct responsibilities related to the chemical demilitarization program.
